[#quoteoftheday💬] “They will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou
💭The full quote is something like this:
“I’ve learned that people may forget what you did, people may forget what you said, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
I often hear things like “oh they’re just too sensitive”.
I used to view sensitivity negatively as a result. Now I think it’s a super power. To be attuned to people’s feelings can help so much with reducing negative interactions in all cases - especially as teachers and facilitators.
And feelings also serve as helpful feedback when you’re around someone who is making you feel uncomfortable but you’re not quite sure why. Upon reflection, if you dig a little, and label the feeling, you can usually figure out the reason. In turn, that can be good feedback for helping navigate tricky relationships and situations.
I think some feelings are often seeds too - if you try to bury them, they just start growing back in different ways.
Feelings are real. Feelings are feedback.

Enjoy. ✨
